Posh on the 4th of July

Because, of course, you rewatch Another Country on the 4th of July.

I don’t think there’s a more beautiful man than Rupert Everett in this movie. And yes, Cary Elwes, Colin Firth, and even Nicholas Rowe (in the crowd) aren’t bad either.

Do your research

Snobbish thought of the day.

I'm following several Victorian tags on Instagram and, recently, everyone is posting reels showing the most diverse Victorian things claiming "Bridgerton vibes."

I admit that I don't like Bridgerton (not judging here, just not my thing) and I barely lasted a couple of episodes, but, folks, Bridgerton is Regency...

Unsharable

I don't even know where to start describing this day.
I teared up most of the morning.
I talked books most of the afternoon.

I don't know how or, honestly, *if* I will actually share any photos.

Because the truth is that not everything can be shared.
Or it should be.

Because no matter how I accurately edit my pictures, you won't ever know the gentle slope of Mount Charles, or the sound of the Crown, the quiches at SU during the class break, Eamon's passion for olives, people coming back from the Kremlin at 3 am, Maggie's soups, gli obliqui, shouting from the mezzanine common phone, the pub bell at 11, Napoleon's Nose at sunset.

And I think, overall, it makes *total sense* that the only thing I share today is this.

(NOT) a short list

“Any idea who else you’re going to ask into this madness?”
“I have some ideas,” Ar’alani said. “I’ll start with Thrawn’s friends.”
Ba’kif grunted. “I’m guessing that’s a short list.”
Ar’alani nodded heavily. “Yes. It is.”
~

Actually, it is not.
At all.

I'm amazed by the beautiful souls that this blue man allowed me to meet around the world.

So this simple shot, which was supposed to be just a quick story on IG, will be a milestone post.
Because it was an epic, fun, lovely day.

Because I don't have the words or the ability to express how grateful I am to know intelligent, funny, witty, extraordinary humans as journalsofthewhills (on IG).

(Thank you for listening to my rants for hours and hours)

All the things that I am grateful for

"At night I hear the rhythm of the ocean as it breaks on the shore
And I think about all the things that I am grateful for
And they say, hold on to the ones you love
Keep 'em close to you
And they say, hold on to this time we have
And let the light shine through"
